Financial Advisor Fees and Minimums: Transparent, Fiduciary, Upfront
Best Path Advisors believes clarity on fees builds trust—so every client knows what they pay, what’s included, and how costs align with their planning relationship.
Know Your Costs—Before You Engage
Choosing an advisor means knowing how fees work—no surprises, no vague language. Whether you’re seeking a flat planning fee, ongoing wealth management, or both, our fee structure is disclosed before you commit. Our model is designed for high-net-worth clients in Texas, DFW, and Colleyville who value transparency, fiduciary advice, and cost efficiency.
Our Fee Models Explained
Financial Planning Fee
We offer a comprehensive retirement plan for a flat fee based on the complexity of your situation. Our retirement plan includes income planning, tax planning, estate planning, risk planning, investment planning, ongoing gifting strategies, and legacy planning. Our minimum fee is $2,500.
Wealth Management Fee (AUM)
Our Assets Under Management (AUM) fee covers ongoing plan implementation, investment management, and comprehensive retirement advice. The AUM percentage is tiered by asset level and always disclosed before engagement. Our minimum assets under management is $2 million with a 0.65% fee that decreases as assets increase.
Special Project Fees
We may offer planning for complex needs and special situations on a project basis. Fees are based on the depth of work to be done. We will provide full clarity on what’s covered and the total fee in advance.

Frequently asked Questions
Financial Advisor Fees—Your Questions Answered
How much does a financial advisor cost?
Our financial planning fees are scope-based and disclosed before you engage. Ongoing AUM fees are tiered by asset level and include investment management, planning, and review. We’ll provide an exact quote after the fit call.
Do you charge AUM fees or planning fees?
We offer both planning-only and AUM-only options, matched to your needs and complexity. We offer a planning-only fee for a comprehensive retirement plan. We also offer a AUM fee for ongoing comprehensive retirement management, where we serve as the CFO of your retirement plan.
Is paying an AUM fee worth it?
Value comes from more than investment returns. Our clients benefit from ongoing planning, risk management, tax strategy, and implementation—delivered as part of the fee.
Are you fee-only or fee-based?
We are fee-based. We provide both planning-for-fee and AUM model. We are also able to help secure insurance products where needed, such as for long-term care or other planning needs. Our fiduciary standard means client interests always come first. We always disclose compensation sources.
Will I pay for services I don’t use?
No—your fee is matched to the complexity and scope of your engagement. Everything is defined up front.
