Our Process

Going to a new doctor can be uncomfortable. We wonder what she will say about our health, weight, and lifestyle habits.

Likewise, it can be uncomfortable meeting with a new financial planner for the first time. For this reason, we have created a simple six-step process to give you a no-pressure method to determine if we are a good fit for each other. There is no cost or obligation to this process, and if nothing else, you will finish with answers to a few important questions.

1 - Initial Phone Meeting

Before committing our time or yours, this 15-minute phone call will give us both a chance to make sure your situation matches our expertise.

2 - First Meeting

During this meeting, we will get to know you and your goals. Most of our time together will be spent listening to you describe what is important to you, but we will also ask you to bring documents that we will need to analyze your unique financial situation. For a list of what to bring, see HERE.

3 - Our Analysis

We make no judgments on your past financial decisions. We accept that you are where you are, and the important thing is to determine how to get where you want to go. Thus, we will use our extensive education, experience and resources to analyze your situation, specifically in light of 5 key questions:

  • Can I afford to retire when I want?
  • Can I reduce my income taxes?
  • Can I improve my portfolio?
  • Can I eliminate or reduce risks to my plans?
  • What can I do to improve my success?

4 - Second Meeting

During this meeting, we will explain in plain English the results of our analysis and tell you what you need to do to achieve your financial goals. We will share with you the answers to our 5 key questions and focus on your specific concerns and needs. When this meeting is over, you will know what we think you should do and how we can help.

5 - Sleep On It

We do not want anyone to make a decision to work with us until they can answer "yes" to some important questions: Do you trust us? Do you believe we understand you and your needs? Do you believe the benefits we will provide you will exceed the cost of our services? Do our recommendations make sense? Do you understand and agree with our investment philosophy?

6 - Third Meeting

During this meeting, we will answer any questions that might have come up since our last meeting. When all your questions have been addressed, if you're ready to move forward, we will start the paperwork to become a client. We will explain what the paperwork entails and the expected timeline for completing any financial plans or establishing investment accounts. We will make it as painless as possible and keep you in the loop throughout the process.

Of course, if you reach the end of this process and feel we are not a fit for any reason, we will wish you all the best in your financial future.
